Yep, Textfree Unlimited lets you send unlimited texts for free to US mobile numbers. No charge for replies that come back through Textfree either. There are two versions of Textfree:

Yes, choose a unique username@textfree.us, then friends can text directly to your iPod touch (or iPhone). This serves as your unique address with Textfree - no mobile number required to get texts!
